Jacuzzi Has Black Specks
Silke Werzinger, illustrator Berlin
If you pound a German-language fashion magazine, you can see it now: the illustrations by Silke Werzinger. From Brian and Max to the TUSH and INDIE Magazine, they all swear by Silke's distinctive style. But also international magazines like the WAD Magazine and NYLON have their talent discovered and Silke entrust more and more to beautify their articles. your thesis "Pimp My Life", which is still on the shelf, waiting to be released, was awarded the Red Dot Design Award, the 2009 Good Design Award and the Junior ADC Award 2008.
Currently you can Silke's work in the current NEON admire the NEON Paperback "200 Tips for a better life" and of course on their website where you while surfing can ever forget the time.
How did it mean that you now working as an illustrator?
I have quite clichéd, drawn as a little child again and so it was already clear to me early on that I want to do something in this direction. At that time I did not know what careers there are in the area and therefore have always said that I want to be a commercial artist. I then After leaving school began to study communication design, in the illustration is only one part. End of 2005 I went to Berlin for six months in order to do an internship in a community Illustrator. In that time I started consciously to develop my own style and take more and more focus on illustration. The time in Berlin has me a lot and is very valuable for me. From there I knew that I wanted to be an illustrator.
Can you still remember your first real job?
Yes, my first job was really nice, for the TUSH magazine . I was to illustrate an article on intimate waxing.
What do you estimate the work as an illustrator?
one hand, it's very good that I can work freely. I have also worked in agencies, but since I quickly realized that I need the space for my own life to make and to decide when I do my work. I also find it very important to me to be able to express yourself and to incorporate my own interests in the work and you can just really, if you work freely.
How do you get to jobs?
early 2006 I sent my work to a few magazines and then get two jobs. After that, it has then increased slowly in early 2008 and when I finished studying, I could have lived with my work, without that I had to make compulsory acquisition.
you are done many illustrations for fashion magazines. Fashion plays a big role in your life?
I enjoy working for fashion magazines. Fashion to me is very important, but not in the sense that what brings designers to the catwalk. I look just like mad at people and their styles and is suitable for a city like Berlin very well.
What inspires you?
Nothing particular, I love to go to shows and buy me lots of magazines and books. I often just sit in a cafe and look at the people.
You Have artist role models?
I have no real role models, but I like to see many things. I love such as the drawings of Egon Schiele. For illustrators I like the work of currently Erik M. Sandberg and Jeanne Detallante very much.
was how the idea for your thesis "Pimp My Life"? Started
everything so that I have registered at StudiVZ . If the profile is set up, comes first, the message "You have no friends." The first sound bitter, but also interesting. I began to wonder how people get through such platforms identity. In "Pimp My Life" I will examine the detail, the form of identity formation, but also self-exposure and the creating of personalities. What people post to the web and why? The topic I am addressing in my work with a lot of humor, which is very me.
Can you buy the book somewhere?
No, unfortunately not. It was supposed to uncle and uncle be laid, a small publishing house in Kreuzberg. The problem is that the book is really not designed for production, it was intended more as a competitive book. The book contains a lot of tinkering, mirror and glitter foil, pop-ups and even music. This makes it very difficult to produce the book.

Autumn
bury your dead
into Bury your dead
deep in your heart;
They become your life
living things are dead.
way they will always rise again in the heart
again
As good, clear Engel
go with you through life.
Begrab'dein own life
In other heart into it;
way you will, and you are a dead man,
be an eternal survivor.
Karl Siebel

This photo shows the view from the window of your room today, on November 1, 2009th In the picture, press both the beauty and the impermanence of our world. You was the volatility of our being aware of very long (see 7th grade school essay). We are you, dear Chris, and who have good memories of you forever deep in our hearts.

What I tell you still wanted
What I tell you still wanted
it remains unsaid
I you wanted to ask you
remains unasked.
What I wanted to show you still
it remains ungeseh'n
what we have dreamed
ungescheh'n remains.
Death came without hesitation
our band tore asunder
never a word, a look of you
failed all over,?
expectant But I carry you in the heart
I dream of it with you
I will ask you in the heart
inside You're always with me.
